EDUCATING THE PUBLIC is a major commitment of the Poustinia Foundation. The project to effect this goal encompasses an Art Ecology Retreat.

There are four objectives in this retreat:

To give youngsters an opportunity to be exposed to earth art and sited sculpture through the works of local and international artists at Poustinia Land Art Park.

To inculcate in youth new values through the understanding of art, its relationship with nature through interactive events and workshops.

To discover artistic aptitude by engaging youth in artistic sessions and

To appreciate the natural and physical surroundings as an intricate web in which humanity is linked, by guided tours and ecological presentation.

The retreat involves a full day, with a maximum of 35 students. Cost per session is $850 for the group; this does not include lunch and travel expenses.

OTHER PROGRAMMES:

Workshops by visiting artists who are donating artwork.

Tours by certified and registered tour groups

Community art/environmental awareness programmes. People are invited to visit the site and also to contribute by donating sculptures and trees.

Art exhibits in Belize, and abroad, through the assistance of collaborating organizations.

Students who have visited the Park relate that they have had a wonderful experience and have learned to appreciate the forest with its flora and fauna.
